I talk often about socio-economic status, and its factor on how a child will perform in just about any given school setting (private, charter, public.)

Click on the link above, answer a couple of questions, and see what your socio-economic status is. Chances are, if you are reading this site, you will be somewhere between the middle and top-fifth of the population.

Based on your findings, you can logically deduce that your child will perform in school at the equivalent of what your socio-economic status is.

However, that doesn’t mean that your child can not be an exception. There are certainly exceptions, those who overcome their setting and environment to succeed. As a matter of fact, if that is the case, public education is the best place for your child. The programs available to help them succeed are unmatched in any other typical setting.
